A taxi's fare is not negotiated on the pavement: it follows a regulated rate, set every year. Here it is, explained line by line, with the trips our customers take most.

How a taxi fare is worked out
the rules, not our rules

The meter
A pickup charge, then a price per kilometre and per hour of waiting. National maximums for 2026: €4.48 pickup, €1.30 per km, €42.15 per hour. The prefecture sets the local rate within that limit.

The flat rates
Between Paris and its airports, the fare is fixed whatever the traffic. The minimum fare for any ride is €8.

The supplements
Only those set by the authorities and displayed in the car: from the fifth passenger, bulky luggage, booking. Never for a station or airport pickup, nor for a wheelchair.
Approved medical transport is a separate case: on medical prescription, the health insurance covers the trip, and in most cases you pay nothing upfront.

The rides, and how each is charged
Airport transfers
flat rate from €36Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle, Orly or Beauvais, at the hour of your flight, even at dawn. Flat rate between Paris and Roissy or Orly.
Train station transfers
metered, minimum fare €8Gare de Lyon, Montparnasse, Gare du Nord: dropped off at the right entrance, picked up when your train actually arrives.
Approved medical transport
covered on prescriptionConsultations, treatments, dialysis, hospital admission: a taxi approved by the health insurance, on medical prescription.
